In the event of a government shutdown, some 800,000 federal employees who are furloughed without pay may collect unemployment insurance.
Government workers are covered under the Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees Program, which is funded by the federal government, but administered by the states.

I wonder how this will affect the National Unemployment Rate next month? Almost one million more added to the ranks of the unemployed in DC, VA and MD......plus all the "non-essential" Federal workers throughout the rest of the country!
Good maybe it help out the folks in NC who now are getting no EB because the unemployment rate has improved so much due to BS numbers. They actually have jobs anyway so they'll be fine, which is more than I can about a lot of us!!!
