Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF OUR MAY BABY'S!!
Thank you! My Bday is on Monday, May 23. It's supposed to rain then (as it's been doing every day for the last week), but not on Sunday, so I'm choosing to celebrate a day early. Despite all of the UC anxiety in my life right now, I am determined to enjoy the day, think of only positive things, and do only those things which bring me happiness. Yes, I can still find that at times, no matter what. Maybe I'll drive down to Valley Forge Park. I've always enjoyed that.
I really do want to focus on enjoyment for one entire day. I'm grateful for life and I also have a special reason to rejoice this year. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer just before Thanksgiving last Fall. He had surgery and treatments. Yesterday was his follow-up appointment to check on his condition. The doctor performed a cystoscopy and then he informed us that my Dad is now CANCER FREE!!!
Even during this very dark period of my life, news such as this gives me reason to feel profound gratitude. It also serves to remind me of the things which are TRULY important in life.
Hoping each of you can find moments of light and peace in your lives, too. All the best to all of you, as always!

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF OUR MAY BABY'S!!
The good news about your Dad is the best birthday present you could ever receive.
My birthday is next month and I will be spending it participating in the American Cancer Society's 2 day "Relay for Life" event. I can't think of a better way to spend my birthday.
You have a wonderful outlook on life. Many times we need to be reminded that despite everything else going on in our lives right now, we do have much to be grateful for.
Happy Birthday and enjoy your day!

Pamela Jo, I am so glad for you and your Dad. That is a great present and Valley Forge Park is beautiful. The weather here, as of now, is to be less humid, cooler and partly sunny for Sunday. Enjoy the day.

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF OUR MAY BABY'S!!
I want to thank all of you for the birthday wishes! The news about my dad IS the best gift of all. Just had a nice surprise...my good friend stopped in this morning with a cute card (3 Kittens in Bday hats) and a beautiful hanging basket full of white wave petunias, so it feels like it's still my birthday. Very nice to have good friends in my life, including those of you I've just met here on the forum.
The sun is shining now, but they say that will add fuel to the severe storms expected later today. So sad about all of the terrible storms in the midwest. I hope things settle down for everyone.
Thanks again for the Bday wishes. I do appreciate it so much!
