The GOP's Stupid Plan for Curing the Jobs Crisis: Lay Off More Government Employees
In response to today's terrible jobs report Republicans are demanding that even more government employees, contractors and others lose their jobs. They also demand that even more construction workers and others receiving government contracts lose their jobs, too. They want to do more of what they did in the Bush years, which led to this mess. If we do what they want to do it will send us into a depression.

I'm convinced the GOP has no other plan than to destroy what is left of the economy in the hope they regain power in 2012. Otherwise, they would be working w/ Dems, not obstructing and not coming up with bills like this or that stupid #4jobs plan that is actually a 10% tax cut for the top.

Re: The GOP's Stupid Plan for Curing the Jobs Crisis: Lay Off More Government Employees
Do you understand that the money for Govt jobs and expenditures has to come from the private sector? You cant mandate that the Govt hire and spend money it doesnt have. When you raise taxes to squeeze more money from private sector companies and taxpayers to pay for a bloated government...surprise...they take their jobs offshore where things are cheaper. We have the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world and people are shocked that companies choose not to remain here with jobs wherever possible?
Why should govt employees keep their jobs at the expense of private sector employees losing theirs? I understand the appeal of Big Govt taking care of all your needs but it is a false sense of security. Govt only has its interests in mind in terms of growing its ability to control and manipulate its citizens. In the end, you can only count on yourself and maybe some immediate family.
At this rate, Govt is going to default on most if not all of its obligations either by reducing promised benefits or cutting them out entirely. Then what? When you have 66 trillion in unfunded liabilities....eventually you are going to face reality and it is coming.
